Issue #13

I realized the other day that my first issue of Telemark Skier is going to be #13. I’ve always been fond of the number myself, as it is the same number as the day I was born. I’m also a huge fan of odd numbers and assymetrical things, which I realize is a vague glimpse into my personality, but should suffice for now.

Issue #13 will be dropping in October and will be available through your local shops, various newstands, and other Telemark related shops. I encourage everyone out there to grab a subscription for themseleves or a friend.

This past week I started some of the pre-production for the Telemark film that I’ll be releasing this coming October. I’m really excited to have the opportunity to put some of this footage together and get it out to the people. I’m tentatively planning a 52 city tour around the US-of-A, and really looking forward to meeting some new people and seeing some new places.

I start to miss sleeping on random couches, in my car, and various hotel rooms. The road provides a certain mystique that I’ve yet to find in anything else in my life and its pull is as contagious as falling in love. There is nothing like waking up to the sunlight coming through my windshield as it slithers into the opening at the top of my sleeping bag and begins to bite at my eyelids until i decide to open them. Then opening the door and smelling the crisp cool air mixed with old car oil on the pavement as you walk into the rest stop bathroom. Ah! Life is beautiful.
