Since acquiring an office a few months ago, I am finding that my desk has quickly become a mountain range of its own. Mountains and small hills of neatly filed papers, magazines, and small projects that are quietly chirping to me like a small nest of little birds waiting to be fed. I’m sure that I’ll will get to them sometime soon as I’ll always do. It is nice getting “older” if you will for the simple fact that multi-tasking seems more enjoyable than it does stressful. Simply thinking back to my early 20s is almost funny because life was probably less busy, but seemed much more stressful. I guess with time comes composure and thank god that is the case because life only seems to get more complex.
The other day I was listening to an interesting program on NPR about how simplifying life is so important to do in this day and age as our daily endeavors become more complex and rigorous. The man suggested becoming “connoisseurs of life” and learning how to focus on the good things that happen on a day to day basis much like a connoisseur of wine would do for each bottle in a collection. I most definitely think this is a good idea and one I am trying to take to heart a bit more. Slowing down can be a good thing.
Summer is flying by me too quickly, although I will not miss the 100 degree weather when the snow begins to fly again…that is for sure. Work has been a steady success and there are many new aspects of my projects that will be coming to life in the near future, so I am excited for that. On the Freeheellife side of things, we have been hard at work putting together a buyer’s guide for next fall…which we are really excited about. We’ll be covering a lot of companies that normally don’t get much exposure in the Freeheel world, so it will be nice to be the catalyst to do so.
“Since We Last Spoke” is coming along nicely. Cody is headed back to SLC to finalize a few parts and to do the final polishing before we send it off to be pressed and packaged. WOW. It is crazy that we have been fortunate to be able to put this thing together.
Back to work for now…..hope everyone is having a killer week out there in your own land.
